Holly-Hunter

Holly Hunter (born Holly Hunter) is a famous American actress and producer. She has gained recognition for her outstanding performance in movies such as Broadcast News The Firm The Piano, and The Incredibles. The film Piano has won several awards for her which included an Oscar. Early on, the accomplished actress began performing on stage in various Broadway or Off Broadway productions. Since her childhood she's always been enthusiastic about acting. She portrayed Helen Keller as a fifth-grade student in a school play. She was born deaf in the one ear due to Mumps, but she didn't allow this handicap to hinder her determination to become an actress. As a teenager she studied drama, and eventually moved to New York City. In a chance encounter she was stuck in an elevator alongside playwright Beth Henley and the two joined forces to create the Broadway Crimes of the Heart and was Hunter's first performance. After moving to Los Angeles she tried to obtain film roles and was offered an acting role as a support in Swing Shift. Since then she has appeared in a variety of TV movies and series throughout a span of over three decades. Holly Hunter was awarded a Hollywood Walk of Fame Star and also the Women in Film Lucy Award.
