Holly Hunter is an American producer and actress who has been recognized for her high-quality performance in films like Broadcast News The Firm The Piano and The Incredibles. She has won many awards for her performance which includes an Oscar. Actresses have a lengthy experience of performing on Broadway as well as Off-Broadway productions. Acting has always been her passion. In the fifth grade she played Helen Keller in an original production. She became deaf in one ear following a bout of Mumps, but she didn't let this disability dampen the determination of her to become an actor. The college she attended was drama before moving to Pittsburgh in Pennsylvania to New York City to follow her goals. Hunter was trapped in an elevator with the playwright Beth Henley when she met her. Together they created Broadway Crimes of the Heart in which Hunter made her Broadway debut. After moving from New York to Los Angeles, Hunter tried to get films to play. The role of a supporting actress was found in Swing Shift. Since then she has appeared in many television series and movies throughout a span of more than 30 years. Holly Hunter was awarded a Hollywood Walk of Fame Star and also the Women in Film Lucy Award.
